Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s opening game in the Women's Premier League has sparked a memefest. Reason – Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated it by 60 runs at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. The power of Shafali Verma's strokes combined with Meg Lanning's experience in a sensational 162-run opening-wicket stand helped DC to a thumping win over RCB on Sunday.
Left-arm pace bowler Tara Norris grabbed a five-wicket haul as she destroyed the RCB lineup, returning figures of 5/29 after Delhi Capitals had put up an imposing 223 for two at the Brabourne Stadium.
Chasing the mammoth 224, the side led by Smriti Mandhana was restricted to 163 for eight in 20 overs.
After RCB men’s team, it’s women's team also starting a tournament on losing ways, the social media was abuzz with memes over ‘how nothing has changed’.
