Arvind Kejriwal leaves CM residence, moves to AAP MP's bungalow in Delhi's Lutyens

NEW DELHI: Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal vacated the 6 Flagstaff Road residence and relocated to his new address, Bungalow No. 5 on Feroz Shah Road, near Mandi House in Delhi's Lutyens' Zone on Friday.

The AAP supremo's family headed towards the official residence of party member Ashok Mittal at Feroz Shah Road in a car accompanied by his parents, wife, and two children.
The bungalow is situated in close proximity to the AAP headquarters at Ravi Shankar Shukla lane (Canning Lane). Kejriwal had also considered the official bungalow of MP ND Gupta at 10 Feroz Shah Road, but ultimately opted for the residence of party MP Ashok Mittal.

Mittal, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, has been assigned the bungalow at this central Delhi location.

Kejriwal had previously announced his intention to vacate the chief minister's residence during the auspicious Navratri period, which began on Thursday.

The AAP party had made a request to the central government to provide Kejriwal with an official residence, citing his position as the head of a national party earlier last month.

Kejriwal stepped down from his position as chief minister last month, stating that he would only resume the post after receiving a "certificate of honesty" from the people of Delhi in the upcoming Assembly polls scheduled for February.

The BJP has leveled accusations of corruption against the AAP national convener in relation to the excise policy and the reconstruction of the Chief Minister's bungalow.

Kejriwal was released from Tihar jail on September 13 on a Supreme Court-approved bail after spending five months in custody.
