Bengaluru welcomes rain amid scorching heat
Bengaluru witnessed a much-needed relief on May 2 around 6 pm as rain finally graced the city, breaking temperature records.
IMD anticipated rainfall
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier forecasted precipitation for May 1 and 2, and as predicted, the city experienced rainfall on the mentioned day. IMD has predicted more rain in the upcoming week.
Forecast suggests mix of cloud, rain
From May 5 to May 8, varying weather conditions are expected. May 5 is forecasted to bring a partly cloudy sky with temperatures ranging from 23 to 38 degrees Celsius.
The following day, May 6, is expected to see similar conditions, with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
Moving on to May 7 and May 8, consistent rainfall is anticipated, with temperatures remaining between 23 and 38 degrees Celsius.
Relief from record-breaking heat
April marked a period of severe heat for the city, surpassing previous records for extreme summer temperatures. On May 1, Bengaluru experienced another record-breaking temperature, marking the hottest day of May in the last four decades.
Driest April in 41 years
For the first time since 1983, Bengaluru has seen zero rainfall in April. The city witnessed its driest April in 41 years, setting yet another record.
