BJP activist murdered in Kannur
A BJP activist was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of CPI(M) workers near Panur early Monday morning.
KANNUR: A BJP activist was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of CPI(M) workers near Panur early Monday morning, police said.
The victim, PP Valsaraj Kurup (37) was attacked by the CPI(M) activists after he was called out of his house around 0030 hrs.
Kurup was a practicing advocate in Thalassery and a BJP Peringalam assembly constituency committee member.
He had contested in the last civic polls as a BJP supported independent candidate from Panur panchayat.
The BJP and RSS have called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district on Monday.
