Chhattisgarh Congress MLA booked for threat to woman

RAIPUR: A case has been registered against Congress MLA U D Minj and five others for allegedly threatening a woman in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district and misbehaving with her.

Minj is the MLA from Kunkuri and is seeking re-election from the same constituency. He is pitted against BJP's tribal stalwart and former Union minister Vishnudeo Sai.

The complainant, Manju Bhagat, has alleged that Minj and some 15 of his associates barged into her house in Jokari village on the morning of November 12 , snatched her mobile phone, misbehaved with her and accused her of campaigning for BJP. The complainant has said she is a BJP worker and has been campaigning for the party.

Hundreds of BJP workers gheraoed the local police station, demanding immediate action against the accused.
