Congress benches 10 MLAs in its Chhattisgarh 2nd list

The governing Congress in Chhattisgarh announced its second list, of 53 candidates, for the upcoming assembly elections, retaining 25 MLAs, dropping 10 legislators, and introducing 17 fresh faces.

A total of 18 sitting legislators have been dropped in the first two lists, though all 12 ministers have been retained. Congress has so far declared 83 candidates for the 90-member assembly, including CM Bhupesh Baghel and deputy CM T S Singh.

The names for the remaining seven constituencies are expected in a day or two. The second list includes 10 women, 14 from ST communities and six SC candidates.
