Security measures are in place for devotees, says IGP Ayodhya

Praveen Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ayodhya, said security measures were in place. “All arrangements have been made across the state. In Ayodhya, we are ensuring that the pilgrims do not face any inconvenience. The SOPs have been put in place to maintain security,” said the IGP.

Authorities anticipate a large influx of pilgrims in January and February, particularly those visiting the Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation estimates 25 million devotees will visit Ayodhya between January 13 and February 12. They also project 300,000 to 500,000 visitors on New Year's Day. The municipal corporation believes that about 10% of Mahakumbh attendees will also visit Ayodhya.
