DG BSF visits Tripura amid unrest in Bangladesh
AGARTALA: Amidst the tension along with the India-Bangladesh border following political unrest in Bangladesh, Director General of Border Security Force, Daljit Singh Chawdhary accompanied by ADG Ravi Gandhi arrived on a one day visit on Wednesday.
They reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness of BSF along Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura. DG BSF was given an operational briefing by IG Tripura Frontier and further DG BSF chaired a meeting with senior officers of BSF and discussed the ongoing law and order situation in Bangladesh and its implications the state.
While reviewing the operational preparedness, he applauded the tireless efforts and dedication in safeguarding the borders and the efforts made to prevent infiltration and trans-border crimes effectively on the Indo-Bangladesh border, BSF release claimed.
He further had a meeting with DG Tripura Police Amitabh Ranjan, and Sh Anurag Dhankar, IPS ADG Law and Order on various issues pertaining to the state.
Sources from the BSF said that the meeting, aimed at assessing the current situation and ensuring the security of the border areas, was held with senior BSF officials and local authorities.
DG Chawdhary conducted an extensive inspection of the border, evaluating the security measures in place and addressing the challenges faced by the forces deployed in the region.
He emphasized the need for heightened vigilance and proactive measures to prevent any cross-border incidents that could escalate the tension further.
He also interacted with the local communities, reassuring them of the BSF's commitment to their safety and urging them to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining peace and order.
