NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Tuesday announced the dates for by-elections to six vacant Rajya Sabha seats from four states.
The polling is scheduled to take place on December 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for the same day, from 5pm.

As per the notification, the last date for filing nominations is December 10, and the deadline for candidate withdrawals is December 13.
On Saturday, the EC announced the results of by-elections for 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats across 15 states. The BJP and its allies secured the majority of seats, while Congress emerged victorious in both Lok Sabha constituencies of Wayanad in Kerala and Nanded in Maharashtra.
In the assembly and by-polls, the BJP and its allies won the most seats in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) claimed all six seats in West Bengal, while Congress won a total of seven seats, including all three assembly constituencies in Karnataka.
