NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate has filed a chargesheet against Rajesh Agarwal, the chartered accountant of
An ED press note said that the chargesheet or the prosecution complaint was filed on Thursday against Agrawal and his associates, besides Jagat Projects Ltd., the shell companies that has now been linked to several other shell companies including those where Bharti had directorship and invested in properties.
The shell companies were operated by Surender Kumar Jain and Virendra Jain involved in money laundering.
The ED had registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. “Agarwal has played a pivotal role in the transactions between Jain brothers and Jagat Projects Ltd. and various other beneficiaries.
Further, it was established that for conversion of unaccounted money, consideration was paid by the beneficiaries to the accused Agrawal and Jain Brothers,” the ED said.
Agarwal with the help of Jain Brothers and their companies, have converted unaccounted money of the beneficiaries to the tune of Rs 81 crore in the year 2008-09 and Rs 39 crore in the year 2009-10 into apparently legitimate transactions by way of unsecured loans, says the chargesheet.
