Editor held for 'incendiary' report gets bail

A court in the Manipur capital granted bail on Sunday to Wangkhemcha Shamjai, editor-in-chief of an evening daily, in a case filed against him for publishing an allegedly incendiary report. Shamjai, a former president of the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union, was arrested on Friday and remanded in police custody for three days. As such, there would be no chance of him hampering the investigation," the court of the first-class judicial magistrate (Imphal West-II) said.
