Pakistan on Sunday brushed aside UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk’s concerns over the recent 27th Constitutional Amendment, urging him to refrain from comments driven by “political bias and misinformation.”
“In line with all parliamentary democracies, legislation and any amendment to the Constitution fall solely within the purview of the elected representatives of the people of Pakistan,” the Foreign Office (FO) said in a statement.

India imported 5.4 million tonnes of Russian oil worth 2.1 billion euros between January and September 2025 using 30 tankers that allegedly sailed under false flags, a European think tank has reported.
The Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) said these shipments made India the biggest destination for crude transported by Russia’s expanding “shadow fleet” that has emerged in response to Western energy sanctions imposed after Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
