LUCKNOW: Former Presidents Ram Nath Kovind and Pratibha Patil, former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu, former Lok Sabha speakers Meira Kumar and Sumitra Mahajan are among the prominent dignitaries who have arrived in Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony, said a spokesperson of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust on Sunday.
“Eminent personalities from fields of sports, art and industry have also arrived,” the spokesperson said, adding that adequate arrangements have been made to make sure the guests have a comfortable stay in the temple town.
Other dignitaries to reach Ayodhya included former Army chiefs General (retd) Manoj Mukund Narvane and General (retd) S Padmanabhan, and architect of Ram temple Chandrakant Bhai Sompura.
“Nita and Mukesh Ambani, Lakshmi Nivas Mittal, Nusli Wadia, Gautam Adani, Ajay Piramal, Anil Agarwal, Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Adi Godrej, Sudha Murthy, and Sunil Mittal have already reached Ayodhya,” the spokesperson said.
“Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, K Sivan, Ravindra Jadeja, PT Usha, Sunil Gavaskar, Saina Nehwal from the sports fraternity and K Kasturirangan, Metroman E Sridharan, education TV Mohandas Pai have also confirmed their participation for Monday’s ceremony,” the spokesperson said.
Trust spokesperson said: “Actors Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek, Rajanikanth, Hema Malini, Asha Bhonsle and sister Usha Mangeshkar, Arun Govil, Prasoon Joshi, Shankar Mahadevan and Subhash Ghai have also arrived in Ayodhya.
From the judicial fraternity, former CJI Sharad Arvind Bobde, and senior lawyers UR Lalit, Mahesh Jethmalani, and Tushar Mehta have reached.
UP government would accord the status of state guests to 300 dignitaries.
