HC junks Parliament breach accused plea against police custody

New Delhi: The Delhi high court on Wednesday dismissed the plea filed by Parliament security breach case accused Neelam Azad seeking immediate release from police custody, saying it was not maintainable, since she had already filed a bail application before the trial court.

Azad's counsel submitted before a division bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Manoj Jain that they had filed a habeas corpus plea stating that the remand order was passed without application of mind and was in violation of Articles 21 and 22.
