Mighty Akashteer system

What is Akashteer system?

Akashteer is India’s automated Air Defence Control and Reporting System. It is designed to detect, track, and help neutralize enemy aircraft, drones and missiles. (Image credit: X/@PIB_India)

Goal of aatmanirbharta

It is developed by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The first batch of 'Project Akashteer' was flagged from Ghaziabad. This marked a major step towards building indigenous capabilities for automating Air Defence operations, in line with the goal of achieving aatmanirbharta (self-resilience) in the defence sector. Defender of India
