Jaishankar-Blinken meet focuses on Ukraine, Indo-Pacific, clean energy
United States secretary of state Antony Blinken and external affairs minister S Jaishankar held a bilateral meeting on the margins of the G20 meeting on Thursday, in which they discussed the Ukraine issue, focused on cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, and reviewed bilateral ties.
“Together we bolster security, freedom, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond,” tweeted Blinken. The US state department said they spoke about shared efforts to elevate and expand strategic technology and defence industrial cooperation, promote food, energy and global health security, clean energy transition, counter-narcotics cooperation, and women’s economic empowerment. “Secretary Blinken and minister Jaishankar also discussed how to mitigate the global impacts of Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine, the US and India’s cooperation in Indo-Pacific, and regional issues,” it said.
