Join BJP, case closed: Congress on Praful clean chit

NEW DELHI: Questioning CBI's clean chit to former Union minister and NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader Praful Patel, Congress Saturday said he is the 21st big leader who was accused of corruption by BJP but has been washed clean after joining BJP's washing machine. It sough an apology from PM Narendra Modi.

Using a press conference for a theatrical demonstration of its charge, Congress dipped into a washing machine a whitet-shirt with allegations of corruption and enforcement agencies written on it and took it out with BJP embossed on it. AICC spokesperson Pawan Khera said that this is how BJP has been functioning to force the opposition leaders to join the BJP fold.

"BJP's fully automatic washing machine works on the principle - join BJP, case closed," Khera said, adding that the BJP machine costs over Rs 8,500 crore, a reference to the money the party received via electoral bonds.
