On December 5, 2023, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the president of the right-wing group Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Three assailants had entered a house where Gogamedi was present and open-fired at him.

During the exchange of fire, one of Gogamedi's security guards was injured by the assailants, who had gained entry to his house in the Shyam Nagar area under the pretense of meeting him. One of the attackers was also killed in the retaliatory firing.

Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang, had claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post, stating that they killed Gogamedi because he was allegedly conspiring with their rivals.

The chargesheet, submitted to the NIA Special Court in Jaipur, charged the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
