NEW DELHI: In response to an RTI query, the Department of Personnel and Training revealed that 83 applications were received for the post of Chief Information Commissioner following an advertisement issued on May 21. It added that 161 applications were received through the August 14, 2024 notification for Information Commissioner vacancies.Once the PM Modi-led committee finalises its recommendations, the appointments are made by the President.
