Madhya Pradesh exit polls 2018: All you need to know

NEW DELHI: Following the voting in Rajasthan and Telangana on Friday, December 7, the exit polls for all the five states including Madhya Pradesh (MP), that polled over the last month will be released. Madhya Pradesh, the state that claims to be the heart of India due to its geography, voted on November 28. Madhya Pradesh has seen chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in power for three consecutive terms keeping BJP in state since 2003.

Other than BJP and Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party has nominated 227 candidates Samajwadi Party has nominated candidates in 51 seats, while Aam Admi Party, a first timer in the state has fielded candidates in 208 constituencies.


Major issues raised by Congress president, Rahul Gandhi in his 21 rallies across the state include corruption, farmers' crisis, unemployment, black money, vyapam scam and Rafale deal. BJP president Amit Shah in his 25 rallies has promoted CM Chouhan's work like the increased state budget, rise in literacy rate, per capita income, medical facilities, etc.

Rajasthan exit polls 2018: All you need to know

Madhya Pradesh has a total seats 230 assembly seats and the majority mark is 116 seats. In 2013, assembly elections, BJP won with 165 seats, Congress stood second with 58 seats and BSP trailed in the third position with four seats.
