MP moves private member's bill to keep Sabari traditions intact

NEW DELHI: Thirty private member's bills, including one for maintaining status quo on religious practices of Sabarimala temple that existed before September 1, 2018, and another on banning non-vegetarian food at official meetings and functions, were introduced in

Lok Sabha

on Friday. These bills were introduced by eight different members.


The bill on Sabarimala was introduced by RSP member N K Premachandran while the one on prohibiting non-vegetarian food at official functions was introduced by Delhi BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh.

The SC on September 28 declared a Kerala government law barring women aged between 10 and 40 years from entering the Sabarimala temple unconstitutional.
