NAGPUR: Former Madhya Pradesh CM and firebrand Hindutva leader
Uma Bharti said on Sunday she would not rejoin the
BJP. "I worked hard to make the party strong and also actively took part in various party movements. But in return, I got a raw deal."
She said though she was on good terms with party chief Nitin Gadkari and senior party leader L K Advani, she would, "at least for now" not rejoin the party.
Bharti was suspended from the party in November 2004 and served a show-cause notice following her outburst against Advani in full glare of TV cameras. Her suspension was revoked soon and in May 2005, she became a member of the party's national executive.
