One killed, 18 injured in Srinagar blast

SRINAGAR: One person was killed and 18 others injured when militants lobbed a grenade at a security camp here on Thursday morning. The grenade, however, fell short of the target and exploded on a busy road near Batamaloo bus.

SRINAGAR: One person was killed and 18 others injured when militants lobbed a grenade at a security camp on Thursday morning. The grenade, however, fell short of the target and exploded on a busy road near Batamaloo bus.
Nineteen civilians were admitted to a hospital where one person succumed to injuries, the hospital sources said.
Police identified the victim as Abdul Gani Bhat but said only 12 people were injured in the explosion.

Condition of another person identified as R M Biya, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was stated to be critical, the sources said.
Pro-Pakistan outfit al-Barg claimed the responsibility for the attack. It said three BSF personnel were also injured in the attack, which was denied by a BSF spokesman.
