Operation Sindoor: Indian delegations in Japan and Russia rally against Pakistan-sponsored terror

Indian delegations have reached Japan and Russia as part of a major diplomatic push to present India’s strong and united stand against terrorism emanating from Pakistan. This outreach follows the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 innocent civilians, and India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor.

In Japan, the all-party delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha met with senior leaders of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on Friday. They held talks with Yasuhiro Hanashi, former minister of justice and acting chairperson of the LDP’s research committee on counter-terrorism.


The Indian side highlighted the country’s unified and determined stance against terrorism, and both sides reaffirmed their zero-tolerance policies. The delegation also met former defence minister Minoru Kihara, LDP’s international bureau director general Shinako Tsuchiya, former prime minister Yoshihide Suga, and Takashi Endo, chair of Japan’s national security committee. India’s ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, accompanied the meetings, which included sessions with leading Japanese think tanks and the diplomatic corps in Tokyo.


At the same time, a delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi has arrived in Moscow. India’s ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, briefed the group before they began official engagements. Kanimozhi stressed the importance of reaching out to Russia, India’s long-standing strategic partner, especially amid repeated terror attacks. The delegation will meet top Russian officials, including members of the State Duma Committee on international affairs, the deputy foreign minister, and key think tanks to explain India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.


These visits are part of a wider effort where seven all-party delegations are travelling to 33 global capitals. Their goal is to build international support for India’s response to terrorism and counter Pakistan’s attempts to misrepresent the situation.

The delegations reflect India’s national consensus on combating terrorism firmly and responsibly, and aim to convey the country’s strong message of zero tolerance to the world.
