Parliament Session Live: Nishikant Dubey announces plan to set Up library on Nehru–Gandhi family

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Wednesday announced that he plans to set up a library documenting the actions of the Nehru–Gandhi family, including allegations of corruption.

“I have decided to set up a library dedicated to documenting the actions of the Nehru–Gandhi family, including allegations of corruption, the impact of their policies on the country, and the consequences of their personal conduct on national interests. I seek support and suggestions from everyone for this initiative. The library is intended to serve as a valuable reference for students and future generations undertaking research,” said Dubey in a post on X.

This comes after Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday displayed excerpts from an unpublished memoir of former Army Chief General MM Naravane and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to “fulfil his responsibility” during the 2020 India-China military standoff in Ladakh.

Gandhi claimed that General Naravane’s memoir had been published overseas but was not being allowed to be released in India. “It is available abroad, I believe. The government is not permitting its publication here. You can imagine where the book I am carrying today has come from,” he said.

Gandhi sought to raise the issue of the India-China confrontation in August 2020 but was repeatedly interrupted by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and later by Home Minister Amit Shah, both of whom objected to references from what they described as an unverified source.

From 3.30 pm, the Lok Sabha will move on to Private Members’ Business. On Thursday, the opposition, including Congress MPs, staged protests in Parliament following a controversy over Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi being disallowed from quoting an unpublished memoir of former Army Chief General MM Naravane related to the 2020 China standoff.

Meanwhile, PM Modi addressed the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha.
