A specialized apparatus consisting of lenses, mirrors, and other components has been meticulously arranged to ensure that the rays of the sun delicately touch the forehead of Ram Lalla precisely at 12 noon on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami every year within the Ram Temple.

The Ram Temple stands tall with a height of 161 feet, and each of its three floors boasts a floor-to-ceiling height of 20 feet. This architectural design enhances the temple's majestic presence and contributes to its overall grand structure.

Architectural splendor: Columns and access

The ground floor of the temple is supported by 160 columns, while the first floor is adorned with 132 columns, and the second floor stands on 74 columns. Additionally, the temple features five pedks and pavilions, contributing to its architectural elegance, for entrance and access.

Twelve gates enhance temple's grandeur

The temple boasts a total of 12 gates, adding to the grandeur and accessibility of this sacred structure within the Ram Temple complex.

Revered Stone and Sacred Darshan

The construction of the Ram Temple has utilized an impressive amount of stone, totaling 21 lakh cubic feet. Devotees, during darshan, are granted a spiritually significant 20 seconds to behold the grandeur of the temple. The revered idol of Ram Lalla, standing at a height of 51 inches, serves as the focal point of devotion within the temple. Devotees can have a sacred glimpse of the idol from a distance of 25 feet, adding to the sanctity of the darshan experience at the Ram Temple.

Expansive dimensions: Ram temple's magnificence

The main temple at the Ram Temple complex occupies a total area of 2.7 acres, with a built-up area measuring 57,400 square feet. The temple stretches across a length of 360 feet and has a width of 235 feet.

Majestic steps and the Singhdwar

The Ram Temple features a substantial width of 250 feet, complemented by a majestic flight of 32 steps, each rising to a height of 16.5 feet. These steps lead up to the temple after the entrance through Singhdwar, contributing to the grandeur and architectural splendor of the sacred site.

​51-inch Ram Lalla idol

The 51-inch-tall black stone idol of Ram Lalla has been made by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj. The idol is made of stone with an estimated weight of 150 to 200 kg. It represents the form of a 5-year-old boy and is intended to be installed in a standing position.

'Surya Tilak': Network of multiple mirrors and lenses

A team of scientists at CSIR-CBRI designed the "Surya Tilak," a system using lenses and mirrors, to channel sunlight onto Ram Lalla's forehead in the Ayodhya temple every Ram Navami. The temple's structural analysis, modifications, and seismic hazard analysis were conducted by CSIR-labs, ensuring that it can withstand earthquakes of 8 magnitude and other environmental conditions.

8,000 guests expected at the event

Along with PM Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Nritya Gopal ji Maharaj, UP governor Anandiben Patel, and all the temple trustees are scheduled to be present within the sacred space of the temple known as 'Garbh Griha.' The temple authorities are contemplating regulating darshan of Ram Lalla's idol in the existing makeshift temple on January 20 and 21 to enable proper preparations for the main event, which will have around 8,000 high-profile guests.
