'Won't interfere': SC trashes plea seeking removal of Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi CM
Supreme Court
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court dismissed a plea on Monday that sought the removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the position of chief minister following his arrest in a money laundering case connected to the excise policy scam. "It is up to Delhi LG to act if he wants to but we will not interfere," a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta said.
The court mentioned that it is a matter of propriety, but there is no legal right to seek the removal of Kejriwal as chief minister after his arrest.

"When the matter was being heard we had posed the same question to them. Ultimately, it is a matter of propriety and there is no legal right," the bench told the petitioner.
The highest court was considering a request from the petitioner Kant Bhati, who was challenging the decision of the Delhi high court dated April 10 that dismissed his plea.
