MVA leaders addressed protesters
Sharad Pawar, speaking at the protest march, said, "The collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue in Sindhudurg is an example of corruption. It is an insult to all Shiv premis (followers of the warrior king)."
Additionally, Maharashtra Congress chief Patole said that much before the PM, the opposition had sought forgiveness from the emperor for allowing such a "Shiv drohi" government to come to power. (Image: PTI)
Statue collapsed on August 26

PM Modi apologised over the incident
PM Modi apologised over collapse of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at Rajkot fort in Sindhudurg district.
"Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not merely a name or a king for us. For us, he is our ‘aradhya dev' (revered deity). Today, I bow my head at his feet and apologise to my deity," said Modi. (Image: Agencies)
Political apology: Shiv Sena (UBT)
Uddhav Thackeray, addressing the crowd, criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's apology , calling it "arrogant."
Earlier, Sanjay Raut called PM's apology a 'Political apology'.

Uddhav Thackeray criticise PM
"For what was the PM apologising? For the statue he inaugurated eight months ago? For the corruption involved? Several MVA leaders participated
S everal Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders including NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, party leaders Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut, along with Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole participated in the march.
