, Shopian police on Sunday claimed to have arrested the man involved in the crime. Jawan

, who was off-duty, was shot dead in the Check Chotipora area of Shopian district on Saturday evening.

SSP Amrit Pal Singh said a joint team of J&K Police, Army and CRPF launched cordon-and-search operation after the killing of Ahmad. During the operation, police managed to get some clues, following which the alleged killer Rukhsar Ahmad Thoker was arrested.

"An overground worker Aamir Ahmad Deewan was also arrested," the SSP said, adding that the attack was carried out at the behest of LeT commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh.
