NEW DELHI: Soon after the scuffle in Parliament, BJP and Congress netas rushed to Parliament Street police station and filed complaints against each other, with BJP accusing Rahul Gandhi of "physical assault and incitement" and Congress claiming saffron party members exerted "criminal force" on Mallikarjun Kharge and "physically manhandled" Rahul.

BJP MP Hemang Joshi, accompanied by party colleagues Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj, filed the complaint. From the Congress side, a team of 12 MPs, including Digvijaya Singh and Mukul Wasnik, lodged a counter complaint. This came after a face-off at the Parliament entry steps between opposition and NDA MPs left BJP's Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput injured.

Thakur demanded a thorough probe and an FIR under several sections of the BNS. Joshi said, "During peaceful demonstration, Rahul Gandhi arrived at the scene around 10.40 am to 10.45 am. Despite a request from Parliament security to take the designated entry path, Rahul Gandhi with a malicious intent to disrupt the protest and physically harm NDA members forcefully barged toward the peaceful demonstrators." "They intentionally used physical force to push Mukesh Rajput and Pratap Rao Sarangi and others who were standing on the narrow stairs at the entrance," Joshi said.

Denying the charges, Congress said BJP MPs misbehaved with its chief n Kharge and demanded an FIR under the sections of "assault, grievous hurt and battery" against them. The Congress complaint said, "BJP MPs exerted physical force on Kharge ji by pushing him to the ground. This has inflicted bodily injuries to Kharge ji, Neeraj Dangi and others. This rash act committed by BJP MPs clearly amounted to endangering the life of Kharge ji."
