Tamil Nadu woman who was pushed off train suffers miscarriage

VELLORE: A 36-year-old pregnant woman who resisted sexual assault two days ago before the molester pushed her off a speeding train near Jolarpet in Tirupattur district suffered a miscarriage on Saturday. Her husband told reporters that doctors at the government medical college hospital in Vellore informed him that his wife miscarried on Saturday afternoon.

The fetus was normal when she was admitted on Thursday. "There was a setback today (Saturday) as the heartbeat of the foetus dropped. We constituted a committee of experts, including senior surgeons, a gynaecologist, a nephrologist, and an orthopaedic, to extend the best possible treatment to the woman," said Vellore collector V R Subbulaxmi.
