Going into these polls with top billing as the key contender for the CM’s post, the Telangana Congress chief had the task of seeing off KCR in one of the two seats he contested.
Defeated P Narender Reddy (BRS) by 32,532 votes.

Defeated Kamal Raju Lingala (BRS) by 35,452 votes
The Congress Legislative Party leader rode into the poll battle on the back of three straight wins here. A prominent Dalit leader, he led padayatras to push the party’s cause.

Mohd Azharuddin | 60 Jublee Hills | Congress
Lost to Maganti Gopinath (BRS) by 16,337 votes
This was the former India cricket captain’s maiden outing on the political turf of the city he calls home. Previously, he was a Congress Lok Sahba MP for Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar | 52 Karimnagar| BJP
Lost to Gangula Kamalakar (BRS) by 3,163 votes
A former BJP state chief, Sanjay had lost here in 2018. He’d held two Praja Sangrama padayatras in the last two years to help BJP up its presence in some pockets of Telangana.

Akbaruddin Owaisi | 53 Chandrayangutta | AIMIM
Defeated M Seetharam Reddy (BRS) by 81,660 votes
The younger brother of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Akbaruddin took guard on his home turf in the Old City area of Hyderabad, which is politically synonymous with his family.
