The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has ended its sit-in protest outside the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata after Governor C V Ananda Bose assured the party that he would address the issue of unpaid MGNREGA wages with the central government. TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee stated that if a satisfactory response is not received by October 31, the party will launch a fresh agitation from November 1 under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The governor has promised to discuss the matter with the Centre within 24 hours.
