NEW DLEHI: The
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday unveiled its election manifesto for the West Bengal Assembly polls, making a wide range of promises covering welfare, governance reforms, security and economic development.
Releasing the ‘Sankalp Patra’, Union home minister Amit Shah described it as a roadmap for building a “Sonar Bangla”, while launching a sharp attack on the ruling All India Trinamool Congress government, alleging 15 years of misgovernance.
Key promises in the BJP’s Bengal manifesto
The BJP listed several major commitments if it comes to power in the state, including:
- Rs 3,000 monthly financial assistance for women heads of families
- Rs 3,000 monthly allowance for unemployed youth
- Rs 15,000 for youths preparing for competitive exams
- 5-year age relaxation for those deprived of jobs due to graft
- Seventh Pay Commission to be implemented within 45 days of forming the government
- Clearance of DA arrears within 45 days
- 33% reservation for women in all state government jobs, including police
- Implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months
- Integration of the state health scheme with Ayushman Bharat for free treatment for the poor
- Strict “detect, delete and deport” policy against illegal immigrants
- Crackdown on cattle smuggling in border areas
- Ensuring the implementation of all Central government welfare schemes in West Bengal
- Setting up AIIMS, IIT, IIM and a fashion design institute in north Bengal districts
- Development of four new townships to boost growth
- Building a Vande Mataram museum to promote Bengal’s cultural heritage

Shah said the manifesto would act as a roadmap for development and empowerment, adding that it reflects BJP’s vision for a “Sonar Bangla”.
He also said that governance under the current regime has been a “nightmare” for the people of West Bengal.
In a political message, Shah asserted, “I can assure people that a person from Bengal and a Bengali will be the state’s CM”.
The BJP said its plan focuses on security, welfare delivery and economic expansion as key pillars of its campaign ahead of the high-stakes elections.
