Udaipur (ST) election results 2024 live updates: BJP's Manna Lal Rawat wins with over 2.6 lakh vote margin

NEW DELHI: As results of Lok Sabha elections 2024 were announced on June 4, it is worth noting that the Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency, historically a Congress party bastion, is a reserved seat for Scheduled Tribes, mirroring the area's demographic makeup. Although the Congress has typically held sway in this constituency, its dominance has faced occasional challenges.

The Udaipur constituency, comprising 8 legislative assemblies, participated in the second phase of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections on April 26. The literacy rate in this parliamentary constituency is 50.61%.

BJP's Manna Lal Rawat won with a vote margin of 2,61,608 against Congress's Taarachand Meena.

Mannalal Rawat from the Bhartiya Janta Party and Taarachand Meena from the Indian National Congress are the key candidates contesting from Udaipur in this election. The BJP's choice to nominate Mannalal Rawat was considered a "calculated Risk", which has allegedly caused unease within the party's state unit.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, which saw a voter turnout of 70%, Arjun Lal Meena of the BJP party emerged victorious with 6,41,561 votes, while Raghuvir Singh Meena of the INC party secured the runner-up position. The margin of victory stood at 4,35,694 votes.

The 2014 Loksabha elections witnessed Arjunlal Meena of the BJP party winning with 6,57,260 votes, with Raghuvir Singh of the INC party finishing as the runner-up. The margin of victory in this election was 2,34,444 votes.
