NEW DELHI: Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who was forced to leave party's roadshow in Varanasi midway due to ill health, has been taken to a hospital here for check-up.
"Sonia ji came and has gone to hospital, she is stable now. Dehydration caused fever," senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters at the Delhi airport.
Sonia was received by Priyanka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi at the airport after she returned from Varanasi cutting short her trip.

"She was very keen to go, had a bit of strain I guess," Priyanka Vadra told reporters outside the Delhi Airport.
The Congress president was accompanied by a team of doctors from Varanasi on the aircraft.

Earlier, she was treated at the VIP lounge of the Varanasi airport.
Sonia Gandhi was in PM Modi's constituency to kick-start Congress campaign for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections with a grand roadshow.
She got a rousing welcome in Varanasi.
The roadshow got a good response, but Sonia was forced to leave it midway after she developed high fever.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished her speedy recovery.
