War hero Arjan Singh passes away: Who said what
Prime Minister Narendra Modi
PM Modi said that India will never forget his "excellent leadership" in the 1965 war with Pakistan.
"India mourns the unfortunate demise of Marshal of the IAF Arjan Singh. We remember his outstanding service to the nation. India will never forget the excellent leadership of Marshal of the IAF Arjan Singh in 1965, when the IAF saw substantial action," the PM said in a series of tweets.

President Kovind praised Arjan Singh for his contribution in the 1965 war with Pakistan.
"Sad at demise of a great air warrior and Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh. Condolences to his family and IAF community,"tweeted the President, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Former President Pranab Mukherjee
For Mukherjee, Arjan Singh was an "outstanding soldier who led from the front".
"As an outstanding soldier who led from the front, a diplomat and an administrator #ArjanSingh will forever be remembered,"he tweeted.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
Mamata refered Arjan Singh as "greatest of all time".
"Saddened at the passing of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh. One of India's greatest of all time. Condolences to his family & IAF family," she tweeted.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharama
While paying tributes to the Marshal, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharama said that the government will be doing maximum to extend the honour the war hero deserves.

Remembering Arjan Singh as "an outstanding soldier and a diplomat who led from the front", Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that he will always be a source of inspiration to the Indians.
Expressing her condolences, she said: "Arjan Singh was an outstanding soldier and a diplomat who led from the front. He will be particularly remembered for his successful operation tenure on the Burma Front during World War II." "He was a jewel in the throne of our Armed Forces and his extraordinary contribution to as an Air warrior would always be a source of inspiration to us," she added.

Senior Congress leader and former defence minister AK Antony condoled the demise of Arjan Singh as a national loss and said that he was an inspiration for the entire armed forces.
"Can not compare his bravery with any of the warrior. It's a national loss. He was very experinced, dedicated and a legend of Indian Air Force," Antony said.

Expressing condolence on the demise of Marshal of IAF Arjan Singh, former Indian opening batsman Sehwag said "soldiers never die".
