Tribal voters have rarely been addressed with so much attention as in the ongoing Gujarat election campaign. For Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), winning tribal seats is considered the last frontier for its election-winning army.

Its arch rival, the Congress, has traditionally been strong in the constituencies reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates in Gujarat.
