Take the 7 day glowing skin challenge

If you have ever stared at your skin in the mirror, wishing it looked a little fresher, a little more radiant, you’re not alone. The good news? You don’t have to book an expensive facial or splurge on a hundred different products to see results. With the right mix of care, consistency, and a little self-love, you can totally boost your glow in just seven days.

Here’s your no-nonsense, tried-and-tested 7-day glowing skin plan that will leave you looking like you have been on a spa vacation, minus the actual vacation.

2/12

Day 1: The reset

Your glow journey starts with a reset. This means cleansing away the buildup from your skin, think dirt, sweat, excess oil, and any lingering makeup residue.

Morning: Wash your face with a gentle sulphate-free cleanser, then splash some cold water to wake up your skin.

Night: Double cleanse (oil-based cleanser first, then a foaming or cream cleanser) to get rid of everything your skin has been holding onto.

Pro Tip: Today is also your hydration kick-off. Drink 8–10 glasses of water, and add a slice of lemon or cucumber for extra detox points.

3/12

Day 2: Gentle exfoliation

Dead skin cells are the ultimate glow-killers. Today, we’re going to slough them away but gently.

Choose your exfoliator wisely: If your skin is sensitive, go for a mild chemical exfoliant with lactic acid. For normal skin, a fine-grain scrub works well.

Massage in light, circular motions for just 1–2 minutes, no aggressive scrubbing!

Follow up with a hydrating serum (hyaluronic acid is your best friend here).

By the end of Day 2, your skin will already feel softer and look more even.

4/12

Day 3: Mask and chill

Your skin is now clean and smooth, the perfect canvas for a mask.

For oily/combination skin: Try a clay-based mask with kaolin or bentonite to soak up excess oil.

For dry skin: Go for a creamy hydrating mask with honey, aloe vera, or avocado.

For dullness: A vitamin C-infused gel mask can instantly brighten.

Pop on your mask, grab a book or scroll through Instagram, and let it work its magic for 15–20 minutes. Once you rinse it off, apply a light moisturiser to lock in all that goodness.

Day 4: Facial massage magic

Today’s about stimulating blood circulation and bringing that natural blush to the surface.

Warm a few drops of facial oil (rosehip, jojoba, or almond) between your fingers.

Use upward strokes on your cheeks, outward strokes on your forehead, and gentle pressure along your jawline.

Spend extra time on your under-eye area using your ring finger, the lightest pressure is best here.

Not only will your skin look plumper, but your stress levels will drop too.

6/12

Day 5: Inside-out nourishment

By now, your skin is starting to look better, but we’re going deeper. Your glow also depends on what you’re feeding your body.

Add skin-loving foods: papaya, berries, cucumber, almonds, spinach, and omega-rich seeds (flax, chia).

Cut down on excessive sugar and salty snacks, they can cause puffiness and breakouts.

Sip on herbal teas like chamomile or green tea for antioxidants.

Glow is a team effort, what you eat today will show on your face tomorrow.

7/12

Day 6: Sun-kissed but protected

Nothing kills a glow like sun damage. Today’s focus: protection.

Even if you’re indoors, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher in the morning.

Reapply every 2–3 hours if you’re outside or sitting by a sunny window.

Pair your sunscreen with a light vitamin C serum, this duo helps prevent sun spots and keeps your skin tone even.

Bonus: If you’re heading out, a little tinted SPF can double as sheer makeup.

8/12

Day 7: The big glow reveal

It’s the final day, and by now your skin should feel soft, hydrated, and visibly brighter. Today, it’s all about sealing the deal.

Start with your usual cleanse, then use a refreshing toner (rose water works beautifully).

Apply a glow-boosting serum, vitamin C or niacinamide are great picks.

Moisturise generously and, if you’re feeling fancy, add a few drops of liquid highlighter into your cream for that lit-from-within finish.

End the day with gratitude for your skin. The week’s work will not only show in your reflection but also in your confidence.

9/12

Here are some glow rules

Always remove makeup before bed (no exceptions).

Change your pillowcases every 3–4 days.

Keep a travel-sized facial mist in your bag for mid-day refreshers.

Sleep 7–8 hours, no glow without good rest!

10/12

Stick to the plan and get set to flaunt your glowing skin

Glowing skin isn’t about perfection, filters, or having an army of products. It’s about consistency, hydration, and kindness, to your skin and yourself. Stick to this 7-day plan, and you might just become the friend everyone asks for skin tips.

11/12

Hydrate well

If you’re chasing that lit-from-within glow, hydration is your best friend. When your skin is well-hydrated, it stays plump, smooth, and more resilient against environmental stressors. Drinking enough water throughout the day helps flush out toxins and keeps your cells functioning optimally, while topical hydration from serums and moisturisers locks in moisture and strengthens the skin barrier. In the Indian context - where heat, pollution, and AC exposure can quickly sap your skin’s moisture, upping your water intake, adding hydrating foods like cucumbers and watermelon, and using a good hyaluronic acid serum can make all the difference.

12/12

Be happy

They say happiness is the best beauty secret, and it’s true, your skin reflects what you feel inside. When you’re genuinely happy, your body releases endorphins and reduces stress hormones, which in turn helps your blood flow better and gives your skin that natural, healthy glow no highlighter can match. Smiling often not only lifts your mood but also works out your facial muscles, keeping them toned and making you look more youthful. So, instead of frowning over every little thing, choose to smile more, laugh often, and let your inner joy shine through your skin.
