Mechanical changes like weather change can play a key role to affect the quality of hair. To deal with such changes, one must take preventive action and after care too. Lot of people complained of hair fall and dryness post lockdown since a proper hair care was missing during that time and the changing weather has made it even worse. Sareena Acharya, Artistic Head, Enrich, suggests a few tips to take care of your hair that is being affected due to the change of weather.
1. Refresh of the hair tipsExcess heat and climate change can cause split ends and frizzy hair, so keeping the hair short is recommended. This can encourage the scalp to remain clean and healthy too. Haircuts like lobs and pixies look cool for this season. If long hair is what you like, make sure the ends are trimmed at least two inches to keep it free from splits.
2. Indulge in a hair spaA Hydrating treatment with repairing properties is what the hair needs during this time. If you wish to treat your hair at home, you can try the banana and honey hair pack. Make a mixture of half cup honey, 1 mashed ripe banana. Apply this mixture on your hair for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water. This treatment will help add shine and moisture to the dull hair.
3. Always Use Sunscreen Just like skin, hair also needs protection from UV rays. Hence a coat of heat protection is always recommended, prior to heat styling or even otherwise. The simplest form of heat protector is a hair serum. It takes not more than two minutes to apply after wash and it is done, an easy and a particularly important technique.
4. Keep hair moisturised all the timeTo keep hair shiny and moisturised, one can try some simple DIY tricks. Take 2 spoons of aloe vera gel extract and mix 1 spoon honey to it. Apply this mixture all over the length and focus more on the ends. Aloe vera works great for damage repair and honey will help maintain moisture level. Apart from a healthy diet, lots of hydration is the key. What you eat becomes what you care and what you put into your body gets reflected outside. So drinking a lot of water and following a healthy diet is a must.
