Soha's skincare game is on point

Soha Ali Khan, the Bollywood diva often impresses us with her relatable style and minimal or no makeup looks. Though this 'fresh as a mint' diva is not seen in movies every now and then, barring some meaningful projects, she is always making news for the right reasons. Khan and her husband, Kunal Kemmu have ventured into the realm of writing and have co-authored many children's books. That’s not all! She often gives her two cents about parenting and lifestyle tips on her Instagram handle which are well-liked by all. She has been an avid follower of yoga and follows simple beauty tips that many relate to. The 'Rang De Basanti' actress revealed her holistic skincare routine to us and that speaks pretty much for itself. Here’s all you need to know to achieve a radiating glow like Soha.

Rolling out her beauty mantra

“As an actress, maintaining radiant and healthy skin is a crucial part of my profession. However, it is not just about looking good on the screen; it's about feeling good from within. Over the years, I have learned that true beauty comes from taking care of oneself, both physically and emotionally. Through my journey, I have discovered some simple yet effective practices that have helped me achieve and maintain healthy and glowing skin,” Soha Ali Khan told TOI.

Embracing a healthy lifestyle

The foundation of great skin lies in living a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep play an essential role in achieving radiant skin. She makes it a point to engage in physical activities, such as yoga and pilates, which not only keep my body fit but also help manage stress. Soha focuses on consuming a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to nourish my skin from within.
“My day starts with a handful of almonds, this is one habit I grew up with. Almonds help me maintain skin health as they contain healthy fats and vitamin E which have been shown to benefit the skin. I would recommend everyone to make the consumption of almonds a daily habit as part of their beauty regime. Whether at home, work, or while travelling, almonds can be eaten anytime. What’s best about almonds is that they can also be consumed in the roasted or flavoured form, says Soha.

Natural skincare regimen

Over the years, she has shifted towards using natural skincare products. Chemical-laden products can sometimes do more harm than good, so she prefers gentle and organic alternatives. Soha follows a face cleanse routine twice a day with a mild cleanser, followed by a nourishing moisturizer. On sunny days, she never forgets to apply sunscreen with adequate SPF to protect her skin from harmful UV rays.
Crediting her diet for that glow from within, Soha says, “A clean diet may be one way to help your skin from within and support the other things you already do, like wearing sunscreen, to protect your skin from UVB rays. Consumption of fruits and vegetables can help boost your skin’s resistance to UV rays naturally. While makeup is an integral part of my profession, I believe in embracing my natural beauty whenever possible. I try to keep makeup usage to a minimum, allowing my skin to breathe and remain healthy.”

5/6

The power of Ayurveda

Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, has had a profound impact on my skincare routine. She often incorporates Ayurvedic herbs and ingredients into her DIY face masks and treatments. Ingredients like turmeric, neem, almonds and aloe vera have worked wonders in soothing and healing her skin naturally.

6/6

Self-care and self-love

Lastly, she emphasizes enough the importance of self-care and self-love.
“Taking the time to pamper myself and doing activities that bring me joy contributes to a positive mindset, which ultimately reflects on my skin. Remember, the journey to healthy and glowing skin is not about overnight transformations; it's about making small, consistent changes in your lifestyle and skincare routine. Embrace your uniqueness, stay true to yourself, and let your inner radiance shine through,” Soha told TOI.
