Tips and tricks to wear liquid lipsticks

Liquid lipsticks are having a moment right now. It's one of the most coveted beauty products right now. Odds are that you will find at least one liquid lipstick in a make-up lover's bag. Why are they better? They are long-lasting and offer intense colour, unlike the traditional lipsticks. They glide easily and only require one coat to get that rich look. However, applying this lipstick needs patience. If you love wearing liquid lip colour, then here are five rules you must follow to make the most of it:

​It requires time

The liquid lipstick can't be applied in 5 seconds. It requires patience and a mirror too. It's not something you can apply in the car. It can give you an improper outliner and will easily smear. So, never apply the lipstick in a hurry, give it some time to get a proper outline and finish.

​You need to apply make-up too!

As liquid lipsticks are highly pigmented, you can't go bare face. You need to balance out the look with a make-up base with foundation, so it doesn't look weird. To complement such strong lip colours, you can go for a matching blush on cheeks too!

Don't over apply the lipstick

With such lipsticks, one swipe is enough! To avoid extra pigmentation, you can remove the extra lipstick on the wand before applying it. This way, you can get an even texture and more control over the application. That said, if you want a dramatic look, you can add more coats to get that look!

​Exfoliate and moisturise

If you have chapped lips, you must exfoliate your lips before to get a clean canvas. Also, make sure you hydrate. Apply the balm over the lip line and let it be for some time. Later, if you feel your lipstick is making your lips feel 'too tight', you can apply one coat of chapstick to moisturise.

​Precision is the key

You can apply the lipstick first at the bottom lip and then press your lips together. Next, shape your cupid's bow, with the applicator or using a lip brush. For darker shades, you can use a lip liner later and shape your lips well.
