I used red wine on my face for a week and this is what happened

What happened when I used red wine on my face

For centuries, red wine is considered to be a magic potion that not only soothes the nerves, but also rejuvenates the skin.
And, though all of us have read about its skin benefits, I thought of trying red wine out on my face and here's an interesting account of what happened next!
2/8

Day one

The experiment began with me buying my favourite bottle of red wine and doing the honours by opening it and a pouring it in a cup. Since I was not so sure about what to do, I thought simply rinsing my face with it. The moment red wine came into contact with my skin, it made a tingling sensation, something a cleanser does. I massaged my face for a few minutes after the rinse and washed it off with warm water thereafter.

The wine facial

On day two, I decided to mix wine with something as it was difficult to apply it on face due to its watery consistency, well I chose my favourite cold cream as I have a dry skin and use that all the time. It just took me two tablespoons of wine and one tablespoon of cold cream to make the facial mix. I mixed the two ingredients well and applied the mix on my face with my fingers. What followed was a nice massage that lasted for some ten minutes. I washed my face with ice cold water to supplement ice cubes used in a salon facial.

The wine face pack

It was time to experiment further and I decided to give a shot to a wine face pack. Opened my fridge and saw a cup of greek yogurt along with a bottle of honey and thought it would be safe to use these two ingredients along with wine. I mixed the three ingredients in equal quantity - two tablespoons each and applied the pack on my face. One the pack was dry, I washed it off with normal water.

The skin on day four

Well, upon waking up in the morning, I realised that my skin's inflammation had reduced considerably, guess it was thanks to the anti inflammatory and antiseptic quality of red wine that repairs skin damage.

I ended the day by rinsing my face with wine yet again.

Day five

I repeated the wine facial and by evening I realised that the skin seemed more youthful, at least that's what my friends at the party told me. Since wine red wine is packed with antioxidants like flavonoid, resveratrol and tannin, it helps in fighting wrinkles and restores skin collagen.
7/8

Bye bye acne

The antibacterial properties of wine helped subside the long standing face acne. For a change, my skin seemed clean and clear after a long time. Well, I did not miss my wine rinse on this day too!

The final day

On the final day I resolved to continue my skin experiment with red wine, if not daily, at least weekly because red wine had made my skin supple, clear and younger!
