New book on living a fulfilling life titled '50 Golden Rules of Life' launched in Mumbai
The book's cover features a delicate cherry blossom symbolising beauty and renewal, and interestingly the event began with three young girls dressed in traditional kimonos who presented the books to the author and the guests Anupam Bhattacharya, Abhishek Verma, Varun Shashi Rao, Anuj Khurana, Dilzan Wadia, Shubham Matta, Darsh Mody, Sunil Kharbanda, and Anshul Singh for unveiling. This added an endearing and cultural flair to the launch. The event included a Q&A session wherein the audience engaged with Joshi, learning about his journey, his guiding principles, and his motivation to help others live fulfilling lives.
In '50 Golden Rules of Life', Joshi shares his personal experiences and his deep understanding of human behaviour. This leads to the 50 principles in the book that offer guidance to readers for leading a fulfilling and content life. Each rule provides practical advice on everything-- from embracing core values to practicing daily gratitude, aiming to support readers in transforming their lives from within.
Full of anecdotes, the book is easy to read and practical and reflective in its approach. One can read it cover to cover or they can pick it up at random moments as whatever page one lands on may have the guidance they may need at that point in life.
For the unversed, Santosh Joshi is a mechanical engineer-turned-life coach. He is known for developing the 12-minute stress-relief technique called SKY, now used by the Indian Army and recognised by the Prime Minister’s Office in Dubai.
While we all want to have a happy and fulfilling life, not many people can master this. Here we list down some golden rules for living life to the fullest.
The most important relationship anyone can have is that with oneself. As Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita, 'For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his very mind will be the greatest enemy.'
Instead of complaining, try to appreciate the things that you have. Having an attitude of gratitude can fill your life with positivity and abundance.
Instead of wasting your precious time on unimportant things, try managing it and using it for things, activities or hobbies you actually want to do. You will not only feel good about yourself but will also feel a sense of accomplishment.
Staying positive and calm even amidst life's chaos is a habit most leaders and successful people have. Having a positive mindset is an important habit to take charge of your life and be happy, no matter the circumstances.
Cultivating meaningful and strong relationships-- be it with your partner, family, friends, or colleagues-- is what will bring ultimate happiness in one's life.
Humans are bound to make mistakes. But instead of feeling bad about someone criticising you or making mistakes, try to learn from them to be a better version of yourself.
Learn to let go of things and people you can't control. Instead, accept people and circumstances as they are, and see how this mindset changes your life, making you happier.
Be it in your personal or professional life or your relationships, being mindful of how you conduct yourself can have a profound impact in your life. Speaking less and listening more, being kind are some habits that can transform your life for the better.
