Barack and Michelle Obama, Oprah and many famous Chicago residents are reading aloud for the Chicago Public Library's "Live From the Library" series.
Many libraries are trying to have online activities to keep readers engaged during the lockdown and the Chicago Public Library has gotten many people of Chicago, of varying levels of fame, to read aloud live.
Oprah read 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy. She explained why she likes the book so much at the end, "I love this story so much because, as Charlie says in the very beginning of the introduction, it's for people who are 80 and eight. It's timeless, because it teaches us all to be grateful for what we have," Oprah said. "One of my most favorite lines is when he's asked whether or not his glass is half empty or half full, and he says he's just happy to have a glass."
Michelle Obama has been reading out picture books on her Mondays with Michelle Obama series and now she's joined by her husband and former American President Barack Obama to read aloud for the library. They both read from The Word Collector by Peter Reynolds. She said on Twitter, "This book is one of my favorites—it reminds me of what it was like to get lost in the magic of words as a little kid. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did."
The author saw the tweet and the reading and excitedly replied with a grateful tweet.
