It was on January 26, 1950 when the Constitution of India came into being and since then, January 26 is celebrated as the Republic Day of India every year. For those who don't know, it was after this historic moment when the Constitution of India replaced the Government of India Act of 1935 as the governing document of the country and India became one of the largest democracies in the world. And so, Republic Day is celebrated each year with great enthusiasm and pride. It is also a day of great patriotism among the citizens, both young and old.
