The Delhi Police will host a virtual concert, 'Dil Se Shukriya', on their Facebook page on May 14. Police officials say they’ve collaborated with around 23 artistes, including Kailash Kher,
Shankar Mahadevan, Usha Uthup,
Jasbir Jassi, Harshdeep Kaur and
Honey Singh.
Mandeep Singh Randhawa, Additional CP, Crime, and PRO, Delhi Police, says, "This is the first time we are hosting a virtual concert, which will simultaneously be live on other Facebook pages like that of IIFA.
The idea is to express gratitude to corona warriors, including essential service providers such as doctors and nurses, and also Delhiites. Most artistes who have come together for the concert are Delhi-based."
Jasbir says, "What I really like about the concert is that it is doesn’t have a serious undertone to it. The coronavirus has shown us a different side of the police – they are cooking and distributing food, and taking care of the elderly. I wanted to perform a corona song, but it isn’t ready, so I’ve performed 'Koka' and 'Laung Da Lashkara'". Harshdeep adds, "We are all home, but policemen are on the field 24/7 to keep us safe. I can best express my gratitude to them through my music. I’m dedicating a mashup of Ae Watan (Raazi) and Ae Watan Humko Teri Kasam to them".

(L-R) Fashion designers Ashish N Soni and Rina Dhaka
While stand-up comedians like Papa CJ will perform, designers Rina Dhaka,
Ashish N Soni and
Rohit Bal will also share their messages during the concert. Rina tells us, "I've recorded a video message to express my gratitude to the Delhi Police for their services, especially during current times. I want to tell them they are my showstoppers, my heroes." Ashish adds, "It is my honour to be a part of this campaign and thank Delhi Police for their help and support. With their dedication and service, they’ve set an example for all of us."
Kailash adds, "What the Delhi Police has been doing during the lockdown is inspiring. I was asked if I would be a part of this campaign, and I recorded Saiyyan, Teri Deewani, Allah Ke Bande and Bam Lahiri for them along with a special message."
Palash tells us, "The Delhi Police have been working round the clock to ensure we are
mehfoos (safe), and no amount of gratitude can ever be enough. The least I can do as an artiste is boost their morale. I have performed 'Maaeri' and dedicated it to all the mothers who have given birth to these brave hearts."
The concert is in collaboration with Rashi Entertainment.
Akhil Sachdeva, says, "I was really honoured to be a part of this initiative of the Delhi Police, what they are doing for corona warriors - Dil se Shukriya. Several renowned artists have participated in this concert, and I have sung 'Ye desh hai veer jawano ka'. I wanted to show my support to corona warriors and the Delhi Police. It is because of them that we are staying safe at home.
Rajeev Jain, who has collaborated with the artists, says, "This is a small token of appreciation for all the corona warriors who risk their lives every day so that we can stay safe in our homes. A huge salute to Delhi Police department for cooperating with us in the planning and execution of this concert”
