Kajol’s organza saree is one of a kind

Kajol’s ivory saree during the star-studded screening of her mythological horror film Maa was subtle enough to underplay but roared through the streets of fashion for all the right reasons. Proving the timeless charm of an organza saree, this silhouette exuded elegance and versatility, making it stand out from the sea of usual ivory drapes. Looking pristine in six yards of sheer grace, Kajol added a nostalgic note to her appearance by picking this stunner from the shelves of Kapardara.

What made this drape a scene-stealer?

Kajol wrapped herself in this dreamy piece from Kapardara’s latest Serpent & Bloom collection, aptly named Alina. This ivory saree was the definition of “less is more,” boasting clean lines, lightweight fabric, and a breathable summer texture. Crafted from pure silk organza with a pure silk base, it balanced transparency with structure - giving us a peek of sheer elegance while keeping its form upright.

It took 45 hours just for the Lampi work!

What made this ivory saree truly unique? That intricate, golden-hued border, an artwork in itself. The saree was adorned with delicate Turi detailing and a handcrafted pure gold Lampi border, which alone took around 45 hours of meticulous craftsmanship. The saree itself took an additional 28 hours to come to life. That’s over 70 hours of love and labour for one red-carpet moment.

Wait, what is the Lampi technique?

Lampi is an ancient embellishment art often mistaken for gota patti. While gota patti originates in Rajasthan, Lampi is more rooted in Hyderabad. It involves weaving gold, silver, or metallic wires into fabric and embossing it with intricate motifs. The result? A mirror-like, high-shine effect that instantly elevates sarees, lehengas, and dupattas to regal status.

The look: minimal, but make it glam

Kajol kept the accessories minimal and let the saree shine. She paired it with a sleeveless golden blouse featuring a deep U-neckline. A simple pair of stud earrings, a sleek fishtail braid tied with golden ribbons, and a red bindi sealed the traditional-meets-modern look. Her makeup? Dewy, highlighted skin, soft contour, and a radiant glow that did all the talking.

Why Kajol is the ultimate style chameleon

Over the years, Kajol has carved a name for herself not just with her powerhouse acting, but with her bold and effortless fashion choices. She’s independent, opinionated, and it shows in the way she dresses. From statement suits to striking sarees, she doesn’t follow trends, she sets them. And with this golden-tinged ivory number, she’s reminded us why she’ll always be fashion royalty.
