Kalyani Priyadarshan rejects fairytale gowns for a crisp white Cannes power look

When most celebrities arrive at the Cannes Film Festival, they’re either wrapped up in theatrical gowns or seen in dramatic couture trails. But South Indian actress Kalyani Priyadarshan chose a rather restrained route. The diva who is debuting at Cannes this year took over the stage for the first time in an effortless, sharp white ensemble that whispered quiet luxury, rather than screaming for attention.

For her first time stage appearance at the Cannes Film Festival’s Indian Pavilion, Kalyani wore a tailored sleeveless blazer-style top with an elegant V-neckline, which had clean, structured lapels, which added just the right edge of power dressing. She matched its prowess with a fitted, cinched bodice that beautifully covered her waistline and came with a peplum-style hem detailing.

What made the ensemble iconic was the clean lines and crisp white fabric, which gave a refined and luxurious overall appeal to the look. This proved that the more bling motifs and maximalist detailing your ensemble has, the more it cannot ever match the prowess of monochrome with an edge of restraint.



Then came the dramatic skirt with ruched detailing, which added a subtle texture to the look and accentuated her entire frame.
