Sonam Kapoor’s baby shower photos drop, and her lime cape outfit is the fashion moment everyone’s saving
Baby showers have always been a thing, even in Indian households, where soon-to-be mothers usually kept their styling sophisticated, comfortable, and traditional. But Sonam Kapoor didn’t follow the usual path and proved that maternity styling is more than just oversized clothes. Breaking the stereotypes and barriers around maternity dressing, she released a range of iconic maternity looks and is now reigning on top of every pregnant woman’s fashion moodboard.
As she’s all set to welcome her second child, the diva hosted an intimate baby shower on Sunday, where her contemporary traditional look had us in a chokehold. She carefully chose her inner circle from the film and fashion world to attend the do, and wore a beautiful lime-green lehenga paired with a matching statement cape. But this isn’t your typical lehenga-choli three-piece.
Drenched in pastel hues with delicate floral embroidery, this piece came with a fluid cape, where Sonam thoughtfully ditched the usual dupatta style and neatly draped this relaxed piece over her shoulders. As has been her choice this entire season, she ditched heavy pleats and layers, opting for a relaxed silhouette that felt unforced.
She wore the lehenga with a traditional matching choli blouse, and she unexpectedly made a mark with her dupatta, which she neatly draped in a pallu style. Carrying this four-piece contemporary charm, she stayed true to her impactful styling notes and wore a massive gold necklace with matching earrings, stacked-up bangles, and multiple rings, which took the cake.
Tying the whole look together were her minimal hair and makeup strokes. She tied her long locks in a sleek, low bun and wore a small red bindi. Opting for a dewy makeup base, she completed her eyes with kohl strokes, winged eyeliner, and mascara, and added a hint of muted eyeshadow. Softly contouring her cheeks and topping it up with peach blush, she rounded off the look with red lips, which matched her bindi note.
But, this beautiful get-together was not your usual one, as it had the biggest names from the glam world, who wore high-end couture pieces and took the aura of this baby shower to the next level. From Kareena Kapoor Khan in a gota patti work ensemble to Khushi Kapoor in a stunning yellow drape, each celebrity brought their own magic and filled the air with love, warmth, and a hint of poise, exuding proper South Bombay vibes.
